Moana Saves

Saving Ideas, Saving Money, Saving Sanity

Sunday’s Party in My Mouth

last night i opened the fridge in anticipation of making this week’s menu plan based on what’s in the fridge. i spied four pillsbury thin pizza crusts i’d bought this week (on clearance, with $1/1 coupons–not free in hawai’i but i got it down to .99 each). we were already planning on shrimp for dinner so i thought “dessert pizza!” went to the pillsbury website and perused the pizza recipes. went with this one.

i figured some substitutions were ok as long as the sweet stayed sweet and the gooey stayed gooey. so i subbed orange marmalade for apricot preserves, canned pears for apples, whole wheat flour for white, white sugar for brown and (stale) cashews for the almonds. oh, it was good. really good. we all loved it, even miss 6 yr old fussy eater. would make a great pastry breakfast as well.
